Sustainable Business Values

Countryside Consulting is committed to building a more socially, environmentally, and financially sustainable local economy. We advocate for the production of local, organic, and fair trade foods and the development of thriving local food sheds. We regularly support the local businesses in our community. Our firm is a member of the Sustainable Business Network of Greater Philadelphia and Louise Smith is a lifetime member of the Pennsylvania Association for Sustainable Agriculture (PASA).

We actively try to reduce waste, promote recycling, and purchase products that are least harmful to the environment and human health. For example, we purchase wind power from PECO, use compact fluorescent light bulbs, carpool whenever possible and compost our food waste. Our staff members belong to Community Supported Agriculture Farms and shop at local producers-only farmers markets and patronize the Kimberton Whole Foods Stores regularly.

Our main office is located in Eagleview, a new urbanist community situated between the rustic farms and woodlands of Chester County that strives to overcome the fragmentation of the modern community. The community is based on a "walkable" lifestyle which includes sidewalks, jogging paths and greenways integrating the home, market and workplace. Eagleview was planned to reverse the modern trends of suburban sprawl and lengthy commutes while still providing quality, affordability and aesthetic beauty. Eagleview is located just minutes from the Pennsylvania Turnpike at Exit 312 in Exton, Pennsylvania.
